Most of us usually start off the year with good intentions.
In January we make plans for all of the wonderful things we want to accomplish…
We set goals to finally lose weight, quit smoking or start that new business we’ve been putting off…
And all of a sudden, we realise it’s March and we haven’t accomplished (or even started to work on) our goals for the year.
Can you relate? If this sounds familiar at all, don’t beat yourself up. It’s actually pretty common for life to get in the way of reaching our ultimate dream…
That’s why today, I’d like to share 3 simple tips to help you get back on track with your goals.
Tip 1- Connect with your source of motivation daily.
Have you ever heard the quote, ‘People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing, that’s why we recommend it daily’?
Well it’s true! Motivation is the number one reason why people don’t follow through with their plans.
To keep yourself inspired, I encourage you to spend a few minutes every day reading your goals out loud, visualizing them in detail and feeling what your life will be like when you achieve them.
Tip 2- Create a list of small steps and take action TODAY.
If you haven’t done this already, break your goal (or goals) into smaller steps and write down every single action that you need to take in order to achieve each of them and set a time of completion right next to them.
But most importantly, don’t leave what can be accomplished today, for tomorrow! Make sure to cross off at least one task from your list today and every day that follows so you keep moving forward 🙂
Tip 3- Let go of anything that may be stopping you from moving forward.
If you have a negative family member or friend that brings you down with fear and self-doubt, then I encourage you to set boundaries between that person or whatever is preventing you from succeeding in life. This is not selfish, this is part of loving and honouring yourself.
May love and peace be yours in abundance,
