How much do you care about what others think of you?
The reason I ask is because as humans, we all want to be liked, accepted and loved…
But there’s a huge difference between caring about how others perceive you and allowing the worry of how they perceive youto control your life and stop you from doing what you want to do in order to avoid criticism.
If you feel like you’ve been paying too much attention to what others think, then here are 2 very important things to remember:
1. Nobody knows what others are thinking.
The truth is that unless you’re a psychic, you really don’t know what people are thinking, you can only assume what they are thinking. So rather than wasting time and energy worrying about this, relax and find peace knowing that it’s okay to not know.
2. How people see you is their problem, not yours.
How many times have you judged someone based on their looks to later find out their personality is actually much different from what you thought?
The thing is, the way we seem to people when they first meet us, is likely different from who we truly are.
So if someone forms an opinion of you, leave it up to them to worry about, that is, if they even have an opinion at all!
And remember that… “The only way to avoid criticism is to say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.” ~ Aristotle
